Christmas recap

I was very busy in the weeks before Christmas. I participated in a few Boutiques and met so very nice people. I had a rush of last minute orders, but some how I didn't feel as stresses as I do most years. I ended up making 12 pillows, which I of course forgot to take pictures of. I did take a picture of this great apron. I ended up making 2 of these one for grandpa and one for grandma.

I'm already making plans for all the things I want to make this new year. I have several quilts in the works and am looking forward to Valentines. Let me know what you need and I'd be happy to make it.

So I've been a slacker and haven't posted in a while, but it's actually because I haven't been a slacker, I've been really busy. I just wanted to let you know that I still have cute stuff available. I still have cute girls princess nightgowns, Book covers which are a great teacher gift, with a gift card tucked inside. I also have doll blanket sets, Crayon rolls and some car rolls. I also have some new hooded towels in some new designs which I will try to get pictures up of soon.

Make it Personal

My very favorite gifts to give are ones that show you spent a little extra time and thought. A great way to do this is to add their name to a gift. One of my favorites is fleece blankets. Fleece blanket can be purchase very inexpensively or are easy enough for just about any one to make. if you need advice on how to clip the edges of fleece to make a great blanket leave me a message and I'd be happy to help.

Embroidery can be added to may items to give them that extra special touch.
Embroidery is $5 for the first 8 letters then 50 cents for every letter after, or $3 each additional name in another spot. Three fonts are available.

Cursive.

Let me know what I can personalize for you.

Toy bags

I'm not a very good house keeper. I really hate cleaning and sadly have passed this hatred of cleaning on to my children. So one thing we have done to try to restore some order to our play room is these toy bags. These are great because we an either hang them on hooks or put them into bins. We can take them with us when we go places and best of all, because of the plastic window we always know what is inside each bag.

I have one for cars, and little people, and pones, dishes, balls, and the list goes on. it has really helped keep things a bit more organized.

Toy bags are $4 each or you can pick 3 for $10. They are 10in X 12in and have a drawstring closure.

Many designs to choose from. As always special requests are available.

Book Covers

I love to read. But, I have a bit of a problem because my favorite books happen to be romance novels and sometimes the covers can be a little bit racy. So I just cover them up with these great book covers.

Book Covers are $5 and come in either Tan or Denim. They have handles and a built in bookmark.

I love to give these as gifts with one of my favorite books inside or with a gift certificate to my favorite book store. It makes a great Teacher gift!

For a good cause

My daughter is horse crazy, from the first moment she saw horses she was in love. Last summer she began taking horseback riding lessons. We absolutely love the stable she rides at not just for what it does for my daughter but for what it does for the community.

The Stable Place offers riding lessons, but also provides special programs by providing lessons for Special Olympics groups, drug and alcohol rehab programs, and foster care groups. In addition to that many of the horses there have been rescued.
This Saturday is a fundraiser to benefit the Stable Place. I was very happy for the chance to donate this quilt as part of a silent auction to be held there. So if you are interested in helping people and horse head out to The Stable Place Saturday. There will be food, riding demonstrations and the silent action.

Don't forget to come see me that morning at my open house. I have lots of fun new stuff!
Update, I'm happy to report that this quilt was auctioned off for a $50. All for a great cause.

Sentimental

Every Mom has a box of baby clothes that they just can't bear to part with. Cute little shirts that proclaim a baby's love for daddy or that they were worth the wait. So here is something to do with some of those cute clothes you just can't give away.
From t-shirt to......

Pillow!
Old clothing could also be turned in to a quilt if you have a lot of it, but I love these pillows.
I'd love to give your old clothes new life in a quilt or pillows.

Time to think about Halloween

I know it's still September, but it's time to start thinking about Halloween. I never really liked Halloween until I had kids and now I love it. Costumes are by far the funnest thing to make. I don't worry so much about them being perfect and just want them to be fun. The bigger, sparkly, fru-fru, the better. Now you may be thinking why spend the money on a custom costume? Well, I can pretty much guarantee that your child will wear their costume many many times. Just today my girls had several costume changes. Carly even found her costume for when she was a lobster and spent a good portion of the day in lobster mode. A hand made costume will last far longer than one purchase at the store, and even if there are 5 other Bells in their class, the hand made one will stand out. So get out your scissors, or give me a call, I'd love to make something for your little princess or Cowboy.
Here are my kids costumes over the years.

Bri at 6 months old. The jammies are purchased but I made the flower bonnet.

Bri's nick name was Brianna Banana, and I just couldn't resist.

I made a little 'Sticker' with Brianna Banana on it. This was very fun to make and stretched my creativity.

I actually didn't make the Monkey costume, but just had to include this picture. I did do the embroidery on the t-shirt.

Halloween really gets fun when you have 2 kids and you can coordinate. Here are my little angel and a devil baby.

My little Mermaid.

Little lobster.

Bri wanted to be a 'pretty witch' and what is a witch without her cat. I also made the costume for my cute little neighbor. She was a 'funky witch.'

And the best for last is my two little princesses. I had way to much fun making these and got a little carried away, truth be told. Carly wears this costume daily, and I'm so even exaggerating. She loves it. and when Brianna's friend come to play they fight over who gets to be Bell.

Little Princesses

Before we left on our trip I was asked to make a few dresses for some cute little girls.
This dress was made for a sweet girl to wear to her mom's wedding. It turned out completely different than we had originally planned but I really like how it turned out in the end. I can't wait to see her in it.

I also got to make some princess dress-up dresses for a cute Little 3 year-old girl for her birthday. She really wanted a Cinderella dress.

I also did a Pink Princess dress. I hope she had a happy birthday and likes her new dress ups.
I love making pretty dresses and would love to make one your your princess. Custom dress pricing starts at $30 + the cost of materials but varies depending on how elaborate the dress is.

Some fun stuff

I have been lucky enough to have gone on vacation this last week. We spent a week on the beach with my brother and sister and their families, and of course grandma. I was very busy before we left making some things for my nieces and nephews to make the trip extra special.

My girls already had matching dresses, which I thought were perfect for walking on the beach but my niece needed a matching one. (The shirts for the boys I bought.)
I also found this great fabric that was perfect for pillow cases, so I made one for each of the kids travel pillows.

I was short on time so I just used puff paint so put their names on each one.

I also made matching pajama pants for all the kids. I wanted something beachy and since we spent a day at Disneyland I thought the Nemo fabric was perfect.

They all really love their stuff and I love seeing my little matching kiddos.
Let me know if there is anything I can make to make your special occasions even more specials.

Busy

My plan when starting this was to put new things up at least once a week. I have so many ideas, but I was scared that no one would even look at this stuff and no one would want to buy anything. But, luckily that is not the case and I have been busy. I've been able to do 3 different custom dress and that has kept me from getting new things up. I'm almost finished with the last dress, and will try to get something new up in the next few days. I'll also put up some pictures of the dresses I've been working on.
Thanks to all who've come to look. I'm excited to be getting to do more beautiful things.
